yes, it does do a lot of damage. no, it's not new to master collection.
Similar to the first Master Collection, MGS4 MC has audio compression issues.
With the music, everything above 17Khz is truncated. Other modders have also realized that the guns sound so tinny due to the audio compression w/ sfx as well. Will be fixable with mods, at least...
