High cardinality is where Prometheus hurts: every unique label combination is its own time series. clickhou.se/4cAvvvD 1,000 hosts x 100 apps x 5 status codes x 50 endpoints is 25M series, each ~200 bytes in memory before a single sample. Add one label and it multiplies.
