Today was my last day at Meta - 5 years with the React team has been incredible.
Tomorrow is my first day at @expo - so excited to be putting 100% into building for the builders. Onward! 🚀
- Glad to finally get this shipped! Credit @afoxman4 for kicking off the discussion back in 2022: github.com/microsoft/rnx-…Metro 0.81.2 experimentally introduces lazy file hashing, making a cold start around 3-5x faster on larger projects, with minimal (<2%) first build speed tradeoff.
- This was fun to work on - let us know how you get on!Faster resolution, faster builds Yesterday's Metro release included a bunch of performance improvements to our resolver, making it around 15x faster. That's especially good news for warm builds.

- How do folks do this? Often quality and short-term metrics (usually completion/milestone based) are in tension, and engineers are incentivised to cut corners, especially in an OKR / perf review culture. How do we incentivise quality?
