Rutherford Library opened in 1951 as the first free-standing library at the University of Alberta, and it's been at the heart of campus ever since — a place for studying, protesting, meeting friends, and everything in between. This exhibition looks at the library's history not just as a building, but as a campus landmark shaped by the people who walked through its doors. Using photographs, architectural plans, student newspapers, and records from the University of Alberta Archives, it traces how the library has changed alongside the university around it.
