π Give us the freedom to drive
Hello everyone,
We are Romain and Lucile π
We are a close couple, both affected by a motor disability:
I use a power wheelchair every day,
and Lucile also uses a power wheelchair for long journeys,
while being able to move with a cane for short distances.
Today, our biggest obstacle is not our disability,
but the lack of a vehicle truly adapted to our autonomy.
β No adapted car = no possibility to drive.
β No adapted vehicle = permanent dependence for every trip.
π― Our goal
We found the ideal vehicle to regain our freedom:
a Mercedes V-Class 220 D, already partially adapted for wheelchair transport.
But for me to drive it myself, we still need to finance several essential electrical and mechanical adaptations,
as well as an electrical docking system for my wheelchair.
This project is above all our regained independence.

β³ Why we need your help now
Funding procedures (MDPH, insurance, compensation funds, etc.) are already underway,
but MDPH processing times are very long:
π between one year and one and a half years before any possible reimbursement.
This means that, even if approved, all expenses must be advanced now.
And today, we cannot do that alone.
Every contribution, even small, helps us approve a quote, pay a stage,
and move the project forward concretely.
βΏοΈ What these adaptations are for
The layout of our vehicle has been designed to allow complete autonomy,
both for access and for driving.
πΉ Access and installation on board
Electric access ramp: automatic up and down to get in without assistance.
Electrical docking system (Docking Station): automatically locks my wheelchair in the correct position, with no transfer.
Electric swivel driverβs seat: allows both me to drive and Lucile to drive, without complex handling.
πΉ Adapted driving controls
Steering knob (left hand): to easily turn the wheel with one hand.
Push handle (brake): replaces the brake pedal, simple and secure.
Accelerator trigger (right hand): allows precise acceleration with a fingertip.
Integrated remote control: indicators, lights, hazards, horn grouped on the main control.
The windshield wiper control remains standard, on the original stalk.
All these adaptations are electrical and ergonomic, designed to enable driving without using the legs, safely.
β€οΈ What this fundraiser represents
This vehicle is not just a car:
it is our freedom, our dignity and our future.
It is the possibility to:
π get around freely,
π§βπΌ work and participate in associative life,
π live together independently,
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ and one day build a family,
quite simply like everyone else.
Even β¬5 is a drop of freedom.
And if you cannot give, a simple share is already a tremendous help π
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, your shares and your solidarity.
Every gesture counts β€οΈ
Romain & Lucile
