There cannot be an exact timeframe where we can bound the scope of delivering a mobile app as every client's pain points and requirements are different from each other. We have a focused and defined approach to analyze, plan and deliver solution where we are able to understand and define the correct delivery model and estimates for each client according to their own individual business need.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
Again, there cannot be an exact timeframe where we can bound the scope of developing a backend and front end of mobile app as every client's pain points and requirements are different from each other. We have a focused and defined approach to analyze, plan and deliver solution where we are able to understand and define the correct delivery model and estimates for each client according to their own individual business need.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
A lot of factors need to be considered while selecting the right platform for a mobile app, some of the major ones that needs to be considered are
- Target Audience
- Demography
- Geography
- Compliance and Legal limitation
- Client's Business model
- App's core business value
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
It depends alot on the client's key requirements that they are looking for in a potential Android or iOS app. UiSlick help ots client's in understanding the right platform by carefully listening their requirements and based on what they need we research and study to identify what platform will be optimum for our client's to start with.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
Both Hybrid and Native has its own success and failures. Native apps are more scalable and robust and highly customizable but since native have seperate code base and require seperate resources (developers) the cost and time factor would be comparatively higher as compared to Hybrid Apps. Hybrid apps on the other hand are light weight due to single code base and heavy use of plugins to access hardware and software which lets us deliver hybrid apps quickly to the clients in a lesser cost compared to Native Apps.
We don't like to recommend any particular platform over other to our clients. After carefully listening and analyzing their requirements we educate them transparently about the opportunities and challenges of going ahead with Native or Hybrid. So ultimately client decides which platform he needs to go with.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Key factors that decide the cost of a mobile application are:
- Targeted User Base
- Platform ( Native /Hybrid)
- Core Application features
- Any customized addons/requirements
These are the basis of determining a ball park cost of a mobile app but we thoroughly analyze the client's requirement to identify the overall time, resources and cost required to deliver the solution for the end client.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
Again payment structure differ from client to client based on client's preference we decide on what payment structure to follow with client. In particular we have 3 pre defined models:
Fixed price model- In this model, we provide a fixed quote and a timeline for the project. This is based on a defined scope of work i.e. scenarios where the project requirements are crystal clear.
Time and material model - In this model, we will deploy 1 or more team members in a project on an hourly basis. We typically invoice clients on a monthly basis for all the services provided. In order to keep track of the number of man-hours spent on various aspects of the project, weekly and monthly (consolidated) timesheet are sent to the clients.
Dedicated model - In this model, we deploy a dedicated resource/team based on the needs and requirements of clients. As a client, project requirements may increase or decrease with time. This model gives the client, complete flexibility of scaling up and scale down the size of the team depending on the situation of the project and various other business dynamics. Usually, invoicing in this kind of model can be done right at the start of a month or can also be done at the end, depending upon the kind of team deployed for that particular month.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, as we have an inhouse team to manage so a minimum fixed price quote range between $10000 - $20000 for mobile app development and $5000-$15000 for web app development which can go beyond based on client's specific requirement.
The minimum budget that we have worked on is $5000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
The minimum was $10000 and maximum was $30000.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
This solely depends on client's business goals. Although we have enabled our clients to generate revenues from the app by integrating subscription models, in app purchases, ads and referrals for them.
