Instead of trying to predict which jobs will exist 10 years from now, we should be helping students understand the technologies shaping them – and giving them opportunities to build, create and think critically about AI while they’re still discovering what they’re capable of. That’s the conversation we’re hoping to bring to #SXSW with Karim Meghji and Kim Majerus. What does it mean for a child to be ready for a world shaped by AI? Does it mean knowing how to use the latest tool? Or does it mean being able to understand it, question it, make thoughtful decisions with it, and eventually create with it? At TAP, we believe it’s the latter. Through our upcoming partnership with CodeAI India for Hour of AI, 1,00,000 students will get an opportunity to explore AI through an interactive experience, while another 50,000 students will be introduced to AI-related career pathways. For us, this connects closely with what we care about most: building agency. We want children to see technology as something they can understand, question and create with, rather than something that simply happens around them. As AI becomes a bigger part of everyday life, that confidence and curiosity will matter more than ever. We’re grateful to CodeAI India for creating this opportunity for children to take that first step through Hour of AI. AI is reshaping how an entire generation learns. That's not something any one organization should figure out on its own. Earlier this month, 11 organizations that normally build separately, spent two days at the same table. That was CodeAI's AI Education Hackathon: 44 people, two days in Boston. Six teams formed Friday morning. By Saturday afternoon, all six had something running. Ed tech is fragmented. The same technical problems get solved over and over in different buildings, by teams who never compare notes. For two days, those teams shared a room, a whiteboard, and a deadline. Understanding AI, directing it, questioning it, and creating with it — that's digital fluency. Students get there faster when the people building for their classrooms stop building alone.
