Nice! Makes me sentimental to see the Brandenburg Gate-the symbol of German reunifcation for me as I stood under it at midnight on October 3, 1990 when the horrors of our divided country came to an end-decorated with the stars & stripes, the colors of my chosen country.

🎆 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸 Today, we're celebrating in style — lighting up the Brandenburg Gate in honor of 250 years of American independence.

I love all these posts about just why we are right to celebrate and cherish the US on its 250th anniversary!

Yes to all this: as an immigrant, I LOVE my chosen country. It is the best place to live if you have ambition, are eager to explore, and want to give your children the best opportunities possible.

After a hellish week in a Paris Airbnb with no AC (100°F outside, 108°F+ inside), I started looking into why the French are so opposed to AC. There's many reasons: bureaucracy, poverty, etc. But the main one is decades of environmental campaigns that convinced people AC is the

Yep, totally dumb. Teens can hail an Uber or Lyft in other states, in addition to driving. I'd much rather a teen daughter ride in a Waymo than with an older potentially inebriated young adult.

Wait so in California a 17-year-old can drive a car but can't be a passenger in a Waymo by herself?
