Set in the idyllic town of the same name, "Widow's Bay" follows Mayor Tom Loftis as he prepares to bolster the town's long-struggling tourism industry. Loftis is ready to battle long-held superstitions to earn the respect of Widow's Bay's citizens, who believe he's a coward.

While he does manage to attract tourists, the victory is hollow. As old horrors bubble to the surface, Loftis learns that the superstitions may have been more than just old wives' tales after all.

The series stars Matthew Rhys, Kate O'Flynn, Stephen Root, Kevin Carrol, and Dale Dickey. The supporting cast includes K Callan and Emmy Award winner Jeff Hiller.

The 10-episode series debuts on Wednesday, April 29, with the first two episodes. New episodes will release every Wednesday through June 17, and a two-episode release on May 27.

"Widow's Bay" is created and executive-produced by Katie Dippold. The series is directed and executive-produced by Hiro Murai.

Apple TV is rapidly becoming the home for all things creepy.

"Widows Bay" finds itself in good company. "Severance," its workplace psychological thriller, was the first to unseat "Ted Lasso" as Apple's most-watched series.

"Pluribus" is another big hit for Apple. The American Film Institute honored "Pluribus" with an award, and it's been nominated for the Golden Globes' Best Television Series in the drama category.

In October, Apple TV bought the rights for Jason Segel's upcoming thriller, "Sponsor."
