Center of Excellence

To drive efficiencies throughout GitLab’s Sales Organization while contributing to the broader GTM motion, the SA Center of Excellence provides scalable, specialized expertise that expands GitLab’s revenue opportunities. The CoE is primarily pulled in by other GTM teams (e.g., Sales, CS, Field CTO, Field Enablement) based on clearly defined engagement criteria and playbooks.

  • Demo Architecture - designs, maintains, and scales demo environments, workshops, and scenarios that support repeatable, high-impact technical evaluations across segments.
  • Business Value Services (BVS) - drives our business value consulting efforts.
  • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) - provide deep domain and product expertise (Platforms, Core DevOps, Security & Compliance, AI).
  • New Business Solutions Architecture - accelerates new logo acquisition by directly supporting New Business sales motions while defining the playbooks, tools, and standards that enable the broader SA organization to win with new customers at scale.
  • SMB Solutions Architecture - provides targeted support on high-velocity SMB First Order and Growth deals.

All of the SMEs within the COE above will be 100% aligned to their respective areas of expertise. All Field SME Representatives are used to supplement these SME team members dedicated to their respective subject matter areas of expertise.
