I paid about £60 extra for a flexible ticket option with Travelup because I wanted the ability to change my travel plans if needed. When I later needed to extend my stay in South Africa, I tried to use that option two days before my return flight. I followed all the steps Travelup provided. I called customer support three times, but no one answered, even though the calls connected and I was charged. I also sent an email to the admin address listed on their website and in my booking confirmation, and submitted a change request through their website. I received absolutely no response — no acknowledgement, no update, and no help from their support team. Because nobody responded before my flight, I had no real choice but to travel on the original ticket or lose it altogether. That meant the flexible ticket service I paid extra for was effectively useless when I actually needed it. Very disappointing, and I believe the flexible ticket fee should be refunded, so I contacted their customer support via email, who finally responded 3 weeks later saying that "any payment which has been paid for any package, those fees are 100% non-refundable and it is also mentioned on our website in terms and conditions as well". All in all, a very unsatisfactory experience and so I would definitely not recommend Travelup to anyone, particularly if you're thinking of paying extra for their flexible ticket option. It will be a complete waste of your money and time in my experience.
