- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2019Format: PaperbackThis book is an update of the previous edition for the newest version 4 of MongoDB. It's covering the newest features of MongoDB like Change Streams and multi document ACID transactions. There is also a whole new chapter about MongoDB tooling like Cloud and Ops manager, Charts, Compass and the Business Intelligence connector. The introduction to Kubernetes is really helpful for both new and mid-level MongoDB developers and administrators. It's easy to read and the various checklists are really helpful for operations and making sure that we are following the best practices.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThe title claims 4.x, but the only mention of 4.x is transactions. Very outdated otherwise, and very shallow. The official Mongodb doc is better. If you have even the most basic exposure to Mongodb then this book is a waste of time and money. Apparently it was written a few years ago and now marketed as something up to date at "expert" level. Avoid religiously.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2019Format: PaperbackBeautifully crafted, the author leads you gently through a clear and concise introduction to the key issues necessary to using MongoDB. It is a pleasure to read and provides plenty of examples for the user to try. I strongly recommend this book for anyone, including experienced software developers, as a guide to the design and development but also as a gem for the detailed information it provides.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019Format: PaperbackThis book helped me very much in my journey to learn MongoDB, which had been somewhat intimidating to me. I quite enjoyed reading it and I found myself really growing in understanding of the concepts and the mechanisms of MongoDB. Very well done!
