Vertex AI Search + Drupal Paragraphs = a surprisingly elegant pairing. By exposing the search box as a paragraph component, content editors get full control over placement. No developer needed every time the page layout changes. It's a small architectural decision that makes a big difference to day-to-day usability. We wrote up how we built it for WRAP. 📢 With council elections coming up in a couple of weeks, we've had a bit of chatter on the LGD Slack channels about our Elections module. ✅ The community has recently added a load of new functionality and made a host of improvements. 🛠️ At a recent Community meet-up, Dan Champion of Rohallion walked through the latest round of improvements to the module, which were co-funded by Walsall Council. 🙏🏽 The Elections module continues to mature, with these updates bringing significant new capabilities for councils managing complex electoral arrangements – from multi-seat wards to by-elections and boundary configuration. You want to do automated #testing. A LOT of automated testing. But your tests take so long to run your developers end up waiting half a day for a pipeline to complete, so something has to give, right? One of the things we do a lot of at Code Enigma is helping customers with their custom #DevOps requirements. A case in point is our work with Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government. They have a great internal web team and our job is to keep them web-developing by making sure everything else around them runs smoothly. They are big into automated testing, in a way that everyone should be - honestly, they're a model of professionalism - but the #Behat tests in particularly take hours to run. To solve the issue we split the tests into sets and created a custom set of bash scripts to spin up and manage an EKS #kubernetes cluster, one set of tests per container instance.
