Quando costruisci applicazioni web, arriva sempre quel momento: un solo server non basta più. Serve ridondanza. Serve resilienza. Serve un load balancer. Molti pensano subito a soluzioni enterprise complesse. Noi abbiamo testato qualcosa di diverso: Caddy. 👉 Reverse proxy + load balancer 👉 HTTPS automatico 👉 Configurazione minimale Ma la vera domanda è: cosa succede quando le cose si rompono davvero? Abbiamo costruito un piccolo lab e simulato scenari reali: backend che crasha, servizi lenti (il caso più subdolo) e routing intelligente del traffico 💡 Risultato? Con poche righe di configurazione, Caddy: gestisce failover in modo trasparente, evita che un nodo lento degradi tutto il sistema e instrada il traffico in modo dinamico (least_conn, cookie, ecc.) 👉 Il punto non è distribuire traffico. 👉 Il punto è proteggere l’utente dai problemi dell’infrastruttura. Il problema è lavorarci sopra: in modo veloce, interattivo, integrabile. Negli ultimi anni abbiamo lavorato su piattaforme #web per imaging #clinico, #AI e visualizzazione avanzata. E a un certo punto è diventato chiaro: i tool esistenti non bastavano. 👉 Da qui nasce #Lumen. Un engine per: - visualizzazione 2D/3D ad alte #performance nel #browser - gestione di workflow #DICOM complessi - integrazione nativa con AI e analisi dati - costruzione di applicazioni #cloud-ready Abbiamo pubblicato solo alcuni esempi iniziali, per mostrare le potenzialità. Serve integrare tutto questo in sistemi che funzionano davvero, dentro contesti reali, con vincoli reali. Software che non dialoga con hardware, DICOM e sistemi legacy. Architetture che non reggono audit, scalabilità e normativa. E ogni volta il risultato è lo stesso: progetti che rallentano, costi che aumentano, rischio che cresce. Chi lavora in R&D lo sa. La complessità non è tecnica, è sistemica. 🚀 Making DICOM metadata readable for developers Working with #medicalimaging means dealing with complex standards like DICOM every day. While extremely powerful, #DICOM metadata can be difficult to interpret quickly when exploring datasets, debugging pipelines, or preparing data for AI workflows. At D/Vision Lab we built a small #opensource #Python tool to make this easier: dicom-insight. The goal is simple: turn complex DICOM metadata into clear, human-readable summaries and structured reports useful for developers, data scientists, and imaging researchers. In D/Vision Lab abbiamo sviluppato un piccolo tool Python open-source per semplificare questo processo: dicom-insight.
