  • WordCamp Asia 2026 is a wrap! 🇮🇳 Our team just returned from an incredible three days at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, and we are still buzzing from the energy of the community. Meeting so many talented web creators and seeing our amazing community in person was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. 🤝 The floor was alive with conversations about the future of web creation, from the potential of agentic AI with Angie to the new scalable foundation of Version 4. Whether you stopped by for a technical deep dive, a demo of Elementor One, or just to grab some custom t-shirts and stickers, we loved every minute of it. The future of web creation is bright, and we’re just getting started. See you at the next one! 👀

WordCamp Asia 2026 is a wrap. Three days at Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai with the WordPress community from across the region. Leading the Elementor team here for the first time was something I will not forget quickly. A few things that stood out: The Angie conversations at the booth were not what I expected. People did not come asking what it is. They came in already curious, already opinionated, already pushing on what agentic AI should actually do inside WordPress. Those are the conversations that matter. Miriam Schwab's talk on MCPs connected with the room in a real way. Watching developers draw the line between WordPress hooks and how AI context works was one of the better moments of the three days. The whole team held down the booth throughout. Grateful for them. Thank you to the WordCamp Asia organizers for putting together an event this well-run and this warm. And to everyone who stopped by, asked a hard question, or pushed back on something — that is exactly what these events are for. See you at the next one. 🩷 #WordCampAsia #WCA2026 #Elementor #WordPress #WordCamp

I just gave a talk at WordCamp Asia 2026 a few hours ago - remotely, which wasn't the plan, but it worked out surprisingly well. Not the same as being there though... The topic: why WordPress's history of open extensibility is actually a structural advantage in the AI era, not just a nostalgic footnote. Here's the argument in short: when the WordPress community shifted from editing core directly to building on hooks and filters, it wasn't just a technical decision. It was a cultural one. The community decided that the future should be built on a shared protocol, not shortcuts. And what came out of that was one of the most successful open-source ecosystems in the history of the web — tens of thousands of plugins, all interacting without permission, without contracts, without even knowing each other. Just a shared interface. The WordPress core AI team is moving in the same direction now. The Abilities API (in WordPress 6.9), the MCP Adapter, and the WP AI Client (both coming in WordPress 7.0, which is expected later this month) are the hooks system for AI. Common protocols. Shared infrastructure. Open by default. Anyone can build on it, no single entity controls it. Meanwhile, the vibe coding tools people are excited about are largely walled gardens — capable AI, but siloed ecosystems where everyone reinvents the same wheel independently. WordPress's 60,000+ plugins, each potentially exposing capabilities through the Abilities API, creates network effects no closed platform can replicate. But the deeper advantage isn't even technical. It's the culture of sharing that's been part of this community for over 20 years. That's not a feature you can copy. I wrote it all up here — would love to hear what you think: https://lnkd.in/djbf4emY

The Elementor team is at WordCamp Asia 2026 this week, and we are running live Angie demos at the booth every day. We are here at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai for WordCamp Asia, April 9–11. The WordPress community that shows up to WCA tends to be curious and direct, and that makes it a good place to have this conversation in person rather than in a comments section. This week is all about Angie. Angie is our agentic AI framework for WordPress, and the value is straightforward: describe what you want, and Angie handles the execution safely inside your actual WordPress environment. Whether you are building a custom widget, adding interactive elements to your site, setting up admin functionality, or creating a front-end app from scratch, you describe it, Angie builds it in a sandboxed environment, you review it, and nothing goes live until you say so. No coding required. If you are at WCA 2026, come find us on the sponsor floor and watch it run live. #WordCampAsia #WCA2026 #Elementor #WordPress #WebCreators

The Elementor team is at WordCamp Asia in Mumbai today, and from what I'm hearing they're having a great time connecting with the WordPress community at our bright pink booth 🩷 I'm joining remotely in about an hour to give my talk: "Hooks, Filters & Now Context: Why MCPs Are the Hooks of the AI Era." It's about why WordPress's history of open extensibility gives it a real structural advantage in the AI era — and what the core AI team is already building. I hope to "see" you at my talk 🙂
