Users are getting strikes from Reddit for "glorifying violence" comments in a military sub?
Frage

I've received modmails from some users in r/Bundeswehr saying they got a message from Reddit because they allegedly wrote a glorifying comment about violence. That comment was also deleted. Generally, I understand such a policy, but there are a few problems in the specific cases I was informed about.

a) This is a subreddit that's explicitly about the military. Some comments will revolve around violence and/or the application of it in a professional discussion.

b) One of the comments was apparently obvious humor/sarcasm: "[...] A airstrike on [...] the BAAINBw in Koblenz is long overdue [...]"

c) This isn't communicated clearly or transparently to the mods of the subreddit from Reddit, or it's not made clear where the actual issue lies.

This is a significant cut for a subreddit like r/Bundeswehr or r/Bundesheer and severely restricts the community.

Is there any way, in the settings or in communication with Reddit, to ensure that "less harsh measures are taken"?

Tutorial

Hello dear moderators,

As many of you know, Reddit's built-in planner only supports text and link posts. If you've ever had to schedule an Image Post – with a proper image preview in the feed, flair, and body text – you know that this is not possible by default. The usual workaround is to upload the image to Imgur or another third-party host and schedule a link post, but this comes with privacy compromises and doesn’t provide an image preview in the feed.

Image Post Scheduler is a Devvit-based mod tool that solves this problem. With it, you can schedule native image posts directly on Reddit – no third-party image hosts, no workarounds.

What it does

  • Schedule native image posts with full image preview in the feed

  • Upload images directly to Reddit’s CDN (i.redd.it) – no Imgur, no external services

  • Choose a flair from your subreddit’s live flair list at the time of scheduling

  • Add optional text to the image

  • Post as yourself or as an app account – your choice per post

  • Queue multiple posts to go out at different times

  • Cancel anytime before the post goes live

  • Track the history of posted submissions with direct links

Everything stays on Reddit's infrastructure. No data leaves Reddit.

How it works

  1. Install the app and add it to your subreddit

  2. Open the subreddit menu and tap Schedule Image Post

  3. Upload an image (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP – up to 20 MB), enter a title, choose a flair, and optionally add text

  4. Select the date and time, and click "Schedule Post"

  5. The post will be automatically published at the scheduled time

The scheduler runs entirely within Reddit’s Devvit platform – it's a web view that only moderators have access to.

Why I developed it

I moderate a film community where discussion posts need to be published at specific local times tied to movie releases. Multiple movie releases a week mean multiple posts at odd times (moderators live in different time zones). For years, this meant someone had to set an alarm for the early morning to manually upload a poster and hit "Submit." This tool automates that completely.

Installation

Now available in the Reddit App Directory. Search for Image Post Scheduler or use this link:

Give it a try, and if you run into any issues or have feature requests, feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you very much.

In our subreddit r/Falschparker , we have an account that, even though it has been banned by Reddit for days/weeks, can still keep posting.
