SEARCH BLOCK – Add field clearing option

This is a simple request:

In the Search Block (as it is in Twenty Twenty Five theme) add an option to CLEAR the search textfield when it’s activated by the magnifying glass button. A simple checkbox, so people who prefer it not clear would be preferred to just changing the functionality.

UX if checkbox for “Clear Search Field” is checked ON:

1. Click magnifying glass button
2. It opens the search field (assuming it’s been configured to hide it)
3. The search field clears any existing text that had been typed in from previous use.

UX if checkbox for “Clear Search Field” is checked OFF:

(Same as it currently is)

1. Click magnifying glass button
2. It opens the search field (assuming it’s been configured to hide it)
3. The search field retains any existing text that had been typed in from previous use.
