    Hello,

I’m facing an issue with the GiveWP plugin where two fields are not appearing in donation confirmation emails:

    1. Phone Field: This is a built-in field that is included in the donation form, but the data does not appear in the email.
    2. CPF Field: This is a custom field that I added to the form. I’ve tried various approaches to include this field in the email using shortcodes like {{ donor.custom_fields['cpf'] }} and other formats, but none of them work.

    What I’ve Tried So Far:

    • Ensured the custom fields (CPF) and phone field are correctly configured in the donation form.
    • Used shortcodes for custom fields in the email template ({{ donor.custom_fields['field_name'] }}), including testing with {{ donor.custom_fields['cpf'] }} for the CPF field.
    • Verified that the CPF and phone data are saved in the backend for donations.

    Issues:

    • Neither the CPF (custom field) nor the phone (built-in field) show up in the donation emails.
    • The GiveWP documentation does not provide specific tags for including these fields in the email template.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to include these fields in donation confirmation emails. Is there a specific shortcode or additional configuration needed to achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi @kellyburg ,

Glad you reached out! Happy to help.

Can you elaborate more on how you inserted the fields? Did you use the Donor Phone Block and a custom text field block for the CPF field?

If the records are saved in the donationmeta table, you should be able to include them in the emails using Meta Email tags.

You should be able to include the Donor Phone block data into the emails using the {meta_donation__give_payment_donor_phone} tag.

For the CPF field, if you used a text field block for this one, you should be able to see the meta email tag under the Advanced section of the block settings like so — https://share.zight.com/P8uK6Axr.

You can use these meta email tags in the email templates for the donation confirmation emails.

Moreover, you can also read more about this in here — https://givewp.com/documentation/core/settings/emails/meta-email-tags/.

Please let me know if I misunderstood anything.

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

    Hi @robindelmundo ,

    Thank you for your help!

I tested the phone field using the {meta_donation__give_payment_donor_phone} tag, and it worked perfectly. However, the tag for the custom CPF field is still not working.

Before opening this ticket, I had already tested using the Meta Key of the custom field in the email template, but the CPF information still does not appear.

To clarify, I have uploaded images showing my custom field settings and the received email where the CPF field appears empty. You can check them here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1aFwFvdntUNe-14-GsiMDld5HY2dNxnBh?usp=sharing.

Could you help me troubleshoot this issue further?

    Thanks again!

    Hi @kellyburg ,

Thanks for sending in those screenshots!

Unfortunately, I can’t replicate them in my test site, as you can see here — https://www.loom.com/share/d694d0c19deb4e109000f071af4caa5b?sid=6278191b-c480-43db-9ad6-a329f91f7026.

Can you try removing the block, saving the form, then re-adding the custom text field block again, then saving it once more? Thereafter, add the custom email tag on your email again.

If you have any kind of caching on your website, I would also suggest clearing them, just so we’re sure that we’re seeing the latest version of everything.

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

    Hi @kellyburg ,

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can send them along right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

    Have a great day!
