    Hello

In this linkm You mention this:

“However, we don’t always want forms to be identical. Sometimes there is specific information or data we want to show beside specific forms. To add text or other content to a specific GiveWP form, use the free plugin “Widget Logic” which can be found and downloaded in the WordPress repository.

Check out this 2-minute video we made on how to configure the widget using the plugin.”

I installed the Widget Logic plugin, but I am not sure what I need to set in the condition logic. The video you mention seems not to be available.

    Regards,

    Simon

    Hello @simonvetterli ,

I see you’ve stumbled upon one of our older tutorials – this functionality has actually been deprecated and replaced with our new visual form builder for a much smoother experience.

If you are currently using legacy forms, I highly recommend you to migrate your forms to the new Visual Form Builder. You can do that under Campaigns > Forms. Or create a new Campaign (which will generate a new form for you to work with).

If you’re looking to display a photo, the donor wall, or other items next to your forms, you can do that using the native WordPress editor, using GiveWP blocks. Here’s an example of how that could look with the new form builder: https://givewp-cs-demo.givewp.today/side-bar-example/

    To create this, I:

    • Created a new Campaign + Form
    • Created a new page
    • Added a 2 column block to the page
    • Inserted the elements into each column (photo and Give Donor Wall on the left, Give form block on the right)

I hope this helps to point you in the right direction! Please let us know if you have further questions we can assist with. 🙂

    Dear Ginger Coolidge

That I understand You correct, this with the Widget Logic Plugin is only working with the newer version of Donation forms? Not with the legacy versions we currently have?

Will be there a progrmmatically way, like using the templates?
Would it also be, to add some custom fields to legacy donation forms? this way we could add additional information, and then add this programmatically into the sidebar.

    Regards,

    Simon

    Hello @simonvetterli ,

It is actually the opposite — the Widget Logic plugin and tutorial you found applied to the older, legacy form templates, however, the video is no longer available. As such, we are removing that tutorial to not cause any additional confusion there. 🙂

You can still work with the legacy forms if you like, however, those will be deprecated at some point, most likely a year or so out.

If you’d like to add custom fields to any of the donation forms (new and old), you can do that using the Form Field Manager add-on. This link will take you to the add-on page so you can read more details: https://givewp.com/addons/form-field-manager/

I hope this helps to clarify things! Have a great rest of your day 🙂

    Dear Ginger Coolidge

Okay. So a best way is, to change all the current forms (they are mostly legacy forms), to the new version?

What my client basically want is to have an individual “sidebar”.

With the theme we are using, I would be able to use a page template, if this helps and assign to the forms, while having somehow an individual sidebar.

We just would like to have 2 2 column layout, one side would be the sidebar, in the other side the donation form. and the content in the sidebar should be individual per donation form.

What would be a best option to do it?

    Hi @simonvetterli ,

You don’t have to assign donation forms to a template, rather, you can simply add the Campaign Form block on one of the columns or sections if you’re using the block editor. Or, you can add the donation form to the location of your choice using or the form’s shortcode if you’re not using blocks.

The shortcode would be in this format where [give_form id="1234"] is the form_id you can see in the Campaigns > Forms list in the ID column.

I hope that helps to clear things up! 🙂

    Hello,

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can reply right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

Have a great rest of your day 🙂
