Gabe Udell
I am a postdoc at UC Santa Cruz, working with Laura Escobar. Previously I was a math PhD student at Cornell University advised by Allen Knutson and before that, I was an undergraduate at Pomona College where I worked with Stephan Ramon Garcia.
My research interests lie primarily in algebraic combinatorics. I like pipe dreams, the associahedron, generating functions, Gröbner degenerations, Schubert varieties, toric varieties, DKK lattices, and vector partition functions. Recently I have also been thinking about the extremal combinatorics of finite vector spaces and flags. I also find myself interested in fractals and pedagogy.
