I built an automated concert-data ingestion pipeline for a German-language metal concert listing platform: depending on the source, either an Apify scraper or an n8n workflow pulls upcoming shows from venue and aggregator sites, normalizes them into a canonical event schema (date, venue, lineup, door and show times, ticket link), and pushes the result into a Laravel app. AI wrote most of the scraper page functions and the n8n transformation code — selector logic, Schema.org microdata extraction, parsing lineups out of messy event titles — and walked through the tradeoffs when I was deciding which tool fits which source. What I did myself was the part that needed judgement and a real browser: figuring out why one source site was rejecting the crawler and settling on the simplest reliable fix over the automated workarounds on offer, keeping the crawl scoped to the pages that actually mattered, defining the target schema on the Laravel side, and turning down the more elaborate architectures the AI proposed when a cheaper one did the job.
