Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival

The 2026 SF Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival takes over Grant Avenue between California and Broadway on September 19-20, 11am to 5pm both days
Expect a full weekend of lion dancers, martial arts, K-pop dance contests, live music, a dumpling-eating contest, mooncakes, and around 200 arts and crafts and food booths lining the street
Heads up that this event gets very crowded, especially for the opening parade, so get there 15-20 minutes early if you want a good spot along the route (locals say the best viewing is near Grant and Jackson.)
It's all free, and it's one of the city's longest-running celebrations, dating back to right after the 1989 earthquake as a way to bring the neighborhood back to life

Park Day for Nepal

As many of you have probably seen by now, Nepal is recovering from a devastating flood. On August 26, a glacial flood swept away entire communities and displaced thousands of people.
☀️Come thru for an afternoon in the park to raise funds for Nepal - we’ll have good music, a picnic set up with snacks, paints and canvases, volleyball, spikeball, and possibly a game of bingo!
💛100% of what we raise goes straight to the Government of Nepal’s official Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund - a verified fund for disaster rescue, emergency relief, and rehabilitation.

Casual beginner surf group in Pacifica!
Hi everyone! I’m just a girl who lives in north beach looking for some more friends to surf with! ig: @graceclendenin
I’m new to organizing this and thought it be fun to have the surf equivalent of a run club. Let’s meet at Soul Grind in Pacifica at 9:30. Everyone welcome!
No experience required! If you’ve never surfed before I can give you tips and you can rent gear at the surf shop next to the coffee shop for ~$30!
Schedule:
- 9:30-10: meet at Soul Grind Coffee Roasters. Get coffee and chat!
- 9:30-9:50: If anyone needs to rent a surfboard or wetsuit, go next door to NorCal surf shop or Traveler surf shop. NorCal is cheaper but Traveler is better quality and women owned. Once you get your gear meet back outside Soul Grind with your stuff. At this point you can be wearing your wetsuit or put it on at the beach.
- 10:00: We’ll walk over from Soul Grind to the beach. I’m planning to set up camp near the creek.
- 10-10:15: I can give tips to anyone who needs it!
- 10:15-11: free surf! Then everyone leaves on their own time.
