Key research areas spotlight
Healthy Urban Waters (HUW) is a program at Wayne State University that promotes and delivers research, education, technology development and public engagement on water resources in the urban environment. The focus area is the Huron to Erie corridor, although WSU's expertise and application extends throughout the Great Lakes watershed. HUW aims to engage and empower the public, faculty and students in creating a sustainable urban environment based on sound science.

Cores and facilities spotlight
The MICR core provides advanced instrumentation, consultation, and expertise for cytometry, light and electron microscopy, and small-animal imaging. Core capabilities include (i) confocal microscopy; (ii) multi-plex immunofluorescence (mIF) whole slide imaging, (iii) conventional, widefield epifluorescence microscopy; (iv) Electron Microscopy; (v) in vivo small animal PET, SPECT, CT, X-Ray, white light, fluorescence, and bioluminescence imaging; (vi) in vitro and in vivo X-Ray irradiation; (vii) multi-parameter flow cytometry, including conventional and spectral technologies; (viii) cell sorting; (ix) imaging cytometry; and (x) advanced data analysis support.
