    HN has some awful takes on software telemetry. Person 1 here says OSS projects have solved bug reporting (firefox dev upthread describing telemetry usage might disagree!) and person 2 has big "don't write bugs" energy Telemetry is (often) misused, but the concept makes sense

Make it easy to report bugs. This is a solved problem (c.f. any popular open source application).

Invest enough in quality so that users see errors so rarely that they get in touch directly when they do.
