At Oxford, the edu version for GPT explicitly states that our usage won’t be used to train models. If the companies are simply monitoring what scientists are doing and scoop their work. It is wrong and has to stop.

OpenAI (& Anthropic) really need to release very clear legally binding statements ASAP that this kind of behavior is against their official policy. If not, it is going to be a legal disaster for science. Even more reason to favor open source models not controlled by companies.

A wearable a day keeps the doctors away. Meet Sensori: a foundation model that turns 24h wrist movement into a health representation linked to function and disease. Open source: arxiv.org/abs/2608.29494 github.com/OxWearables/Se…

That’s precisely the point. Imagine if we loads of other models similar for different modalities but add them all together. Maybe it is the cocktail effect moment for health sensing.

papers like this are very interesting because a truly multimodal representation of patient health will include AS MANY MEASUREMENTS about the patient... in this case wrist movement (which you can get from a wearable) apparently adds signal for predicting clinical info!

Receiving medical care in the UK is terrible and wonderful at the same time. I twisted my ankle while playing tennis yesterday. While I needed to go through many stages of triage before seeing a doctor, when it was my turn, things worked like a charm. Thank you NHS ❤️

In the age of AI, reading books and long books is akin to LLMs having long context window for reasoning. While we push the limits of LLMs we shouldn’t forget to upskill ourselves.

There may not be many people left in 10 years who can write, or want to read, things longer than a page or two. But there will be at least a few of us, and we'll be a powerful club.
