This week, I had the chance to testify in front of a Senate hearing about platform transparency. As usual, @CaseyNewton covered it well here but I wanted to share some of the main points I talked about and a few other ones as well.
Yesterday @SenBillCassidy and I, along with 15 of our colleagues from both chambers of Congress, sent a bipartisan letter to @Meta urging it to continue access to CrowdTangle, an important tool for understanding how social media platforms are affecting us in various ways.
I've been lucky to get to work with @RebekahKTromble for the last several years and couldn't agree with @claesdevreese more. Saying that she has put countless hours into the cause of data access is a huge understatement. She deserves all the recognition and more. 🙌🙌🙌
I don’t think I have the right words to describe how well deserved it is that the fabulous Rebekah Tromble just won the David Swanson Award from the #polcomm#ica24 division.
Awarded for unique and selfless service to the field: data access for research 👏🏼
SO WELL DESERVED
