ESP-KVM turns an ESP32-P4 into a full IP-KVM Two boards, one ribbon, no soldering. An ESP32-P4 with Ethernet, a C790 capture board, the ribbon between them. HDMI and USB to the target, network, 5 V of its own. Flash it from espkvm.io, open espkvm.local @waveshare00

@M5Stack I ordered a Unit PoE-P4 and the Display In add-on to port ESP-KVM to them. One thing I cannot work out: will the box hold pre-3.0 silicon or rev 3.x? They need different images and neither runs on the other's chip. Is there a way to tell before it arrives?

No boot device found. That is a demo, in a browser tab, with nothing plugged into anything. There is a drive under Media and four images in it. Pick one, press Reset. espkvm.io/demo

youtube.com/watch?v=0yUuZS… ESP-KVM 0.28.0 reads the target's screen as text. A BIOS, a boot menu, a console: select it with the mouse like a page, or copy the whole screen. Not OCR - each cell is looked up in the font's own table. github.com/espkvm/espkvm/…

ESP-KVM speaks Tailscale natively: a Tailscale client written in C, running on the device itself, no relay box in between. Headscale works too. The certificate names the tailnet address, so the console is trusted over the tunnel as well. @Tailscale
