Popup blocker problem? (only on chrome)

I hope it's not just on my end but uBlock stops detecting and blocking popups (nothing in the network request log) if the tab wasn't already open when the extension was started.

Disabling/enabling uBlock makes it work until the tab is closed and opened again.
