Moving Stretch: Work Your Fascia to Free Your Body
Purchase options and add-ons
See results from just 10-20 minutes of moving stretches per day!
This accessible guide gives step-by-step instructions for people who feel tight or older than they should, people with poor posture, athletes who want to boost their performance, and those who want something more than conventional stretching. This book includes:
• An introduction to stretching, the fascia, and flexibility
• Easy-to-follow guidance on how to stretch for maximum impact
• Effective stretches and warm-ups for the whole body: front, back, inside leg, outside body
• Goal-oriented stretch routines: flexibility, hip opener, posture, office jobs, and more!
Many of us are limited in our movements, hunched over, or tight. Office jobs and sofas can lead to bodies that are imprisoned in a cage of tension, whose tissue is dehydrated and stuck together, with some areas that are very weak or tight. Normal stretching is not strong enough to break us out of that state. When we tense our bodies and move through that tension, we engage the fascia and recondition it into a more youthful state, restoring great posture, elasticity, and power.

About the author

Suzanne Wylde is a coach, author, stretching trainer and acupuncturist who has studied holistic coaching, leadership coaching, Traditional Chinese Medicine, healing, bodywork, self-development, and resistance stretching. Over her 15+ years of practice she has developed a way of working with people in a way that is holistic, person-centred and transformative, creating her own method of resistance stretching called Moving Stretch (for people with a wide variety of physical needs and body types) and a range of self-development exercises. If you are wondering if she could possibly be good at all these things, it may help to know she has never really had a full time “proper” job, but committed to being a hippy early.
Suzanne has been featured in national newspapers and magazines including; The Times, The Guardian, Psychologies, Elle, The Daily Mail, The Evening Standard and Tatler, has travelled around the world to learn from different traditions (learning acupuncture in China, stretching in the US and meeting Shamans in Mongolia) and has written four books. Moving Stretch: Work Your Fascia to Free Your Body was a #1 New Release on Amazon.com and has been published in the UK, USA, Germany and China and is helping people all over the world to change their bodies themselves. The Art of Coming Home is a self-development guide to finding all the answers and resources you need, within yourself and Perfect is a young children's self-help adventure.
When she is not working with clients she is usually drinking tea and enjoying some peace and quiet somewhere. You’ll find some handy resources for stretching at www.movingstretch.com and for self-development at www.suzannewylde.com.

Breakthrough Book - Top in its class - Immanently Practical
Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2020This book is a great find ! It is filled with practical knowledge, clear pictures and instructions on how to to the exercises, etc... I already feel more invigorated and flexible after only a week ( I'm in my early 60's, and have been exercising for my whole life to at least some degree..) his book is the ticket for me - it will be my primary exercise companion to the end, it is just what I was needing. Resistance stretching is ( for me, and for those with old injuries) in my opinion, much safer than passive stretching. HIGHLY Recommended.

A great book. Look them up on Youtube and also their website
Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2023This book is a real contribution. There are videos on the Moving Stretch website and youtube channel which demonstrate the exercises, so its good to use the book and the videos together to get clarity. I don't understand why there are not tens of thousands of views on the youtube, if not millions. Free your fascia with a consistent practice of these moving stretches.

Stretching the right way
Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2017There are some good stretches in Moving Stretch. I’m surprised that in a book on stretching and fascia the author didn’t give Bob Cooley credit for figuring out that stretching is primarily about the fascia. It appears that the author is trying to take the credit. The graphics in the book are helpful.

Wow - This book is better than Bob Cooley's on Resistance Stretching.
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019If you need new ideas for resistance stretching this is the book. I purchased this and Bob Cooley's Resistance Flexibility and I feel this one is easier to understand/read and has many more pictures and movements to do.

Bob Cooley IS credited. Informative but repetitive text.
Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2025Oliver G. Kushner, please be sure to read books thoroughly before casting aspersions against authors. The author gives credit to Bob Cooley on p. 40.
The book is informative, but rather repetitive. An index to help readers quickly find the stretch they want, is missing.

Canadian Customer5 out of 5 starsStraightforward and easy to follow.
Reviewed in Canada on September 22, 2018The book outlined the importance of fascia and the benefits of stretching with movement and resistance, instead of just static stretching. The descriptions and pictures were easy to follow and I especially enjoyed the stretches that were shown for those who work in an office/sitting environment. These stretches were quick and easy and can be incorporated into your day, when there is no time for a long workout.

Mrs. S. L. Smith5 out of 5 starslottos information and exercises
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 21, 2021After a knee replacement, my recovery was fast for the first 3 months but then slowed down, even though I was doing the exercises provided by the excellent physio. I had discontinued the physio sessions as I thought I no longer needed them. The knee itself and muscles seem to be doing well but some of the other supporting structures (tendons, ligaments and connective tissues ie fascia) were still giving some discomfort. Since I bought this book as as Kindle book, my whole knee is getting better and, although I can't do some of the floor exercises, there are plenty of others, well-explained, that I can do and I have been impressed with the results. This may, of course, be a coincidence but I don't think so and some of my other areas, which were weakened as my knee deteriorated, have been improved too. I will continue to do the exercises I have been doing and add to them gradually because I have found the book and it's exercises so helpful (NB. After any operation of this kind it is sensible to get advice about what exercises to do. I have only done the exercises that were similar to/in line with those encouraged by the physio0
