Little House on the Prairie, Season 1

Entertaining until the very end of season 1. The second season’s 2027 premier is way too far off.

The Expanse, Season 3

This show sure manages to surprise in the turns it takes.

Der Thüringenkrimi, Season 2 Episode 1

Two main characters got replaced3. Still pretty much the same quirky story quality.

Blaugust 2026?

Just like last year I link to Dave’s blog post1.

Quick Blaugust 2025 Recap

Last year I managed to publish 13 Blaugust posts. However, I only managed to post my Entertained posts regularly since then. I still use Bear to write my posts.

Unfortunately midgard2 died sometime in the last month without me noticing3. Luckily vanaheim is still waiting to get Immich installed so it’ll serve as a temporary4 home for this blog for now.

Blaugust 2026

Hopefully I can find time to add more things to this blog, e.g., auto-posting post announcements to Mastodon/The Fediverse, include replies there as comments/reactions on the posts. Installing Immich, and playing with GoToSocial also sound like fun4.

I kinda miss the 24 episodes per season times. Still 2 to go though.

The Expanse, Season 3

I like how everyone is competent yet imperfect. There’s also some weird jump in tone between S3E6 and E7. Still exciting as hell.

Really just the first episode and not even the whole of the 17 odd minutes: seems like this family cannot bear Austrian comedy.

Little House on the Prairie, Season 1

This version, while being a lot more gritty than I remember the show from 19743, is quite nice.

The Expanse, Season 2

I still am wondering why I didn’t watch this earlier. I’m still enjoying it very much, albeit two episodes a week…

Nice conclusion to the quite entertaining story.

The Expanse, Season 2

I am still amazed how much politics are in this show; not that I started watching it for the action3. It is hard to stop watching one episode only, but time is scarce. Granted it doesn’t pull any punches.

Season 5 kinda snuck up on the ARD Mediathek so I binged it in one night. I love this show,

The Expanse, Season 1 & 2

I like the way the story is told from all view points (politics, military, insurgents(?)).

Achtsam Morden, Season 2

Not sure if I find the finale a bit rushed but no questions remain open.

Benedetta

A recommendation from Flick Connection/Darren Van Dam.4 Excellent performance by the actors, and beautifully shot in believable 17th century setting5. I didn’t expect the story, though, so I keep it spoiler free here. I know what I’ve taken away from it.

I’m kinda sick6 so it is time to catch up on Tatort episodes.

Gefahrengenbiet: Wolf content is in high demand these days in Germany.

Blue Eye Samurai, Season 1

Unexpected graphicness. Unexpected complexity in storytelling7. Quite some fun to watch; Not so much for how women were treated in feudal Japan.

Achtsam Morden, Season 2

Creativity: White powder done wrong.

Knowledge: With an obvious Vincent Van Gogh reference.

Mistake: Poor Sascha: just wants to be a Kindergärtner but has to do Bad Things ™

La legge di Lidia Poët, Season 3

Episodes 5 & 6: Mom doesn’t accept that Jacopo is considered a beauty by everyone. Sad that the show seems to have ended without anymore seasons planned.

Tatort, Season 57

Die Schöpfung : I have had quite a few strong moments of deja-vu while watching it, but I am certain I have not seen it yet. I surely would have remembered the metal opera. Good nonetheless and a rather unpredictable conclusion.

Ex-it: A dark one; I shouldn’t watch these before bed. No deja-vu here and unpredictable as well, especially the couple therapy interlude.
