How is this different from using ChatGPT or Claude for reports?

A chat project holds your setup until you open a new chat, and you download and upload every file yourself each month. Databao keeps the sources, definitions and report format saved, reads the files on schedule, and lets you click any figure to see the row it came from. Your data stays on your computer instead of being uploaded with every file.

Do I need SQL, a data team or a warehouse?

No. Databao starts with the CSV and Excel exports you already download and with Google Sheets. You describe the work in plain words. Connectors to HubSpot, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Stripe, Shopify and QuickBooks come later, when you want the download step to go away. There is nothing to migrate and no pipelines to build.

How long does setup take?

Show one month you already finished: the exports you downloaded, the sheet you built and the report you sent. The next month it takes the new exports, rebuilds the report the same way and logs every step. You check what it flags.

Can I check where a number came from?

Yes. Click any figure in the report to see the source rows behind it and the steps that produced it. Answers to one-off questions come back with the query attached, so verifying takes a minute instead of a rebuild.

Does my data leave my computer?

No. Databao stores and analyzes your files locally. Only the question leaves your machine, never the exports. Anything else that would leave is called out and waits for your approval.

What does it cost right now?

Databao is in alpha and free. Each month we pick a few companies, build the reporting setup with them at no cost, and give them a free copy of Databao to run locally.
