I love,
not to carve out a small
part of the world to love
a love of isolation
and of opposition
to hate

but as practice of widening
of expanding to
hold seeds of contradiction
in balance to the sprooting of
entanglement

the entanglement that speaks:
"without you our healing is incomplete"
yet also
"without me our healing is incomplete"

I love,
not to carve out a paradise
from the world
but to return again and again
in grief
loving in loss, stretching into
places of destruction, hurt, and violence
and honoring the lengths of longing

a love in reverence and sensitive to the queer contours of the world

As I realize:
We have to venture far from home to realize what we have left. And to feel the meaning of what we have lost to truly return.
