This document covers privacy practices common to all of our services. It is read together with the service-specific supplement for the service you are using. Where the supplement says something more specific, the supplement governs for that service.

The date this policy takes effect depends on which Service you use and is stated in that Service’s supplement. When you first sign up for a Service, the then-current policy applies to you immediately upon acceptance; the notice period in “Changes to our Privacy Policy” applies only to later changes we make for existing users.
Introduction
We get that legal documents can be overwhelming and boring, so we’ve tried our best to keep it as simple as possible while providing the information needed. It is important however to remember that this policy is legally binding between yourself and us if you choose to use our services, so please read it carefully, together with the supplement for the service you are using, before proceeding.
Your Privacy
Your privacy is very important to us, and we will ensure protecting your privacy when using our services. We respect our users’ privacy while remaining transparent. We only collect limited data that is absolutely necessary to provide the service.
The specific categories of data we collect depend on which service you use. These are listed in the service supplement:

Who is this information shared with?
We will NEVER sell your data to any third parties.
We do use certain service providers to process your data on our behalf. The current named providers for each Service are given in its service supplement, but across our services these commonly include:
- Cloudflare, provides us with DDoS mitigation and content delivery acceleration.
Law & Order: We may disclose your information to third parties only if such disclosure is absolutely necessary to comply with a valid legal process, protect any person from death or serious injury, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect our rights, property, safety and interest.
Where is my information stored?
Your information is primarily stored on servers provided by cloud providers within the European Union, and may also be stored within the United Kingdom (for example, in the form of encrypted backups or where required to operate the service).
To provide certain features, such as real-time voice and video, we may also process or store some information on servers located in other countries. Where we do this, we put appropriate safeguards in place: we enter into data processing agreements with the relevant hosting partners, and, for any transfer of personal data outside the EU or UK, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism (such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses).
If you wish to request deletion of any information stored on our servers, including any requests under GDPR or DMCA, please use the account deletion / reporting feature in-app if possible or otherwise contact us at [email protected].
Exceptions apply for the third-party service providers used to process your data as described in the service supplement.
Our commitment to children’s privacy
We abide by the children’s consent guidelines as laid out by the GDPR and The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), which require online service providers to obtain parental consent before they knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from children who are under 16 and 13 years of age respectively, and in the case of the GDPR, may vary depending on the EU member state.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under the minimum legal age to use the service. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under the minimum legal age to use the service, we will immediately delete that information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the age and believe that they have disclosed personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected]. As a concerned user of the platform, you may also report underage users by using the in-app report feature.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is based on your consent, which you give us when you sign up and agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us. We may also process your personal data to comply with our legal obligations, to protect our legitimate interests or the interests of others.
As a user of our service, you have the right to lodge a complaint under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) if you think that we have mishandled your personal data or violated your data protection rights. You can do this by contacting us directly and explaining your concerns. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can also escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which is the supervisory authority for UK GDPR. Subject to the conditions and exemptions in applicable data protection law, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right to be informed - to know how we collect and use your personal data, as described in this policy.
- Right of access - to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification - to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected.
- Right to erasure - to request that we delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Right to restrict processing - to ask us to limit how we use your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability - to receive the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Right to object - to object to our processing of your personal data, including processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Rights relating to automated decision-making - not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. Exercising these rights is free of charge in most cases, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Changes to our Privacy Policy
As we keep improving our services, we may update our Privacy Policy in the future if needed. When you first sign up for a Service, the policy then in effect for that Service applies to you immediately upon acceptance. For existing users, we will notify you of changes made to our Privacy Policy and give adequate notice before they take effect, except for the routine operational changes to service providers, their subprocessors and processing regions described in the relevant service supplement.
Those routine operational changes may take effect without advance notice to you. We will still give advance notice before a change that introduces a new processing purpose, materially different categories of personal data or recipients, or a material reduction in your rights or the safeguards used for international transfers.
You are advised to review our Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
