  • Cloud II Wireless isn't working after a firmware update

You may just need to re-pair the headset to the USB dongle.

Follow the steps below to pair them together.

    1. While the headset is powered off, hold down the power button until the headset status LED starts blinking red/green rapidly. The headset is now in pairing mode.

    2. While the USB adapter is plugged in, use a small tool (e.g. paper clip, SIM tray ejector, etc.) to hold down the button inside the pinhole on the USB dongle until the dongle LED starts blinking rapidly. The USB dongle is now in pairing mode.

    3. Bring the headset close to the dongle. Wait until both the headset LED and the USB dongle LED are solid. The headset and USB dongle are now paired together.

  • Wireless USB Dongle isn't working (usually, on PS5)

TLDR: Use an externally powered USB hub if your wireless dongle doesn't work on your PS5 or other system, but works fine when used on something else. It needs to be an externally powered hub. If you still run into issues, please contact our Care Team.

If you have a wireless product (particularly a headset) that connects with a wireless USB dongle, and you are trying to use it with a PS5, you may encounter an issue where the PS5 doesn't seem to recognize the USB.

When you plug the USB dongle into the PS5, the LED on the USB dongle should light up. If it's not, this is another indicator it's not working.

However, this may not be an issue with the dongle. A recent console-side change to the USB ports can result in the USB ports supplying too much voltage, which then causes the USB dongle to enter safe mode. Some console models only experience this issue with their front USB ports, while others may experience the issue on all of them.

The (often) easiest way to test if the USB dongle is the issue would be to plug it into another system (ideally, a PC). If it works fine in another system, the USB dongle will not be the source of the issue (if your firmware is up to date).

A consistent workaround for the USB port limitation is to connect the USB dongle to the PS5 through a USB hub, specifically one that is externally powered. This will provide a steady, expected voltage to the USB dongle due to the external power supply.
