Nearly a year ago I started my role at @BYU as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering.
Together with @JoshMangelson, we lead @byu_frost_lab, developing robotic systems for robust operation in complex real-world environments, including planning, perception, SLAM, and more.
- Excited to share that IA-TIGRIS, a major part of my PhD work, has been published in IEEE Transactions on Robotics! Hundreds of flights and extensive validation toward practical online informative path planning for real robots. ia-tigris.github.io
- Proud to be part of this work, which was the culmination of many years of effort! ViSafe demonstrates how vision-only Detect and Avoid (DAA) can enable fast, reliable self-separation, even without GPS, ADS-B, or external communication. Excited to share it at RSS this year!🚀 Thrilled to present ViSafe, a vision-only airborne collision avoidance system that achieved drone-to-drone avoidance at 144 km/h. In an era of congested airspace and growing autonomy, reliable self-separation is paramount 🧵👇
- I'm excited to share that I successfully defended my PhD thesis! This milestone reflects years of work, learning, and collaboration. I'm grateful to everyone who supported me along the way. You can watch the defense here: youtu.be/mWyqYeOTZIs
- Excited to share our recent work that was accepted to RA-L 🎉Check out our latest RA-L work titled, “Time-Optimal Path Planning in a Constant Wind for Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles using Dubins Set Classification” Our method finds the optimal path between two points in a flow field 37.4% faster than the baseline. bradymoon.com/trochoids 🧵👇
