Solidarity with striking CUPW workers demanding a living wage, sick days, vacation pay, better working conditions, job security, safety on the job, and an expansion of services (including postal banking)! Support toolkit 👇 cupw.ca/en/collective-…
Graphic from CUPW reads “I [heart] posties!” In blue lettering.
On Friday November 15th, 55 000 Postal Workers walked off the job in a strike demanding a living wage, sick days, vacation pay, better working conditions, job security, safety on the job, & an expansion of services (including postal banking). Canada Post is a vital institution that connects us across the country. We have all been struggling with the rising cost of living. On our campuses, we are seeing that young people have been finding it harder and harder to get by. Students become workers, & workers fight to raise the bar for us all. Standing with workers is an inherent part of our movement: all work is climate work.As Canada Post makes moves to increase days of service through lower-paid part-time & contract workers, increase working hours and delivery hours outdoors, and weaken employee pensions, we call on them to take action to improve the lives and conditions of their employees! We also call on the government to respect workers’ right to strike & not force a return to work.
White heading on a blue background reads “What can you do?”. Below, white text reads “Tell Canada Post CEO Doug Ettinger that you support CUPW in negotiations, that the post office cannot cut its way to growth, and that it must agree to solutions that benefit everyone– including workers. Join a picket line near you! There is a map of picket line locations linked in the toolkit. There are also placard templates, window/door/mailbox signs, and social media graphics available for download. Learn more about CUPW’s proposals for new and expanded postal services through their Delivering Community Power campaign, including postal banking, affordable food delivery, and more!” In the bottom left corner is a red graphic reading “keep our post office public” and beside it white text reads “CUPW solidarity toolkit available in our bio!”

🎉 STUDENT WIN! 🎉 University of British Columbia Okanagan votes to strengthen environmental commitments and empower students. Students at UBCO passed three resolutions related to banks and divestment at their AGM this week: 🧵
A photo of students holding a hand painted banner which features an illustration of a river filled with fish, lined with trees and many animals on the banks. Text on the banner reads “ALL OUT FOR WEDZINKWA.” A blue graphic rectangle over the top left corner shows the RBC logo with the globe on fire and dripping oil. Beside that the RBC On Campus logo has been altered to read “RBC OFF CAMPUS” with smaller text below reading “RBC Divest! Defund Coastal Gaslink! No Fossil Fuel Funders on Campus!” A burgundy box in the bottom right corner holds bold white lettering that reads “STUDENT WIN! University of British Columbia Okanagan votes to strengthen environmental commitments and empower students. Students at UBCO passed three resolutions related to banks and divestment at their AGM this week.” At the bottom of the frame are the RBC Off Campus UBCO and Change Course logos.

Art by by sanya hyland. It is a yellow print reading “the struggle for Justice is as old as tyranny itself and the longing for a world guided by love is as old as the human heart”
