“Good code” is such that it allows you to extend your system without constantly needing to re-architect. It’s very hard to get this right when coding by hand, even more so using Agents and LLMs.

I don’t think LLMs will ever truly write “good code” But soon no one will remember or agree what good code is, so it won’t matter

Steve hits on something very astute here. The whole “us vs them” mindset is basically a zero sum game, which in software, tends to be regressive. I still believe Andrew Kelley’s “Unlike Rust” comment provided zero technical value and was merely just a symptom of derangement.
