I long for the glory days of 2022 before the rent-freeze, where my mouse-infested Hell's Kitchen apartment with a caving-in hallway ceiling had it's rent raised by... 22%.

A friend of mine on the Upper West Side was just informed his rent is being raised 6% — there are rent stabilized apartments in his building, that, as a reminder, are not means tested. This is not an isolated story. @ZohranKMamdani has effectively raised the rent on NY’ers
