    OSC8 is the terminal sequence for linking arbitrary text (similar to `a` tags in HTML). It is mandatory for a modern terminal experience but prone to malicious use. The next version of Ghostty contains the strongest protections for malicious OSC8 short of disabling it entirely.

    In many cases working around this is rather trivial, albeit annoying, which further reinforces my point this is dumb. I'm not going to share my specific tactics but through simple word replacement and social engineering (the agent), I've gotten around this almost every time.

    Been fighting the Great Firewall of America all day (Fable too, though this screenshot is from Codex). I truly believe this is resulting in software being less secure because we can't find and fix security issues in our own software that we control without a bunch of red tape.

    A sad thing I see is when companies start becoming reactive over proactive. Its a clear external sign that the leadership has lost vision. They make decisions they feel are safe instead of through conviction of a future. The problem is that "safe" almost always means following

    Deck icons: a dynamically changing set of icons based on what's running in your multiplexer. You've seen SuperSplit (early iterations) before, but this is also a small showcase of SuperTabs, our custom native tab kit. And yes, vertical tabs already work too.

    In the last 18 months or so my terminal use has exploded. From being a place where I mostly navigated the file system, ran a server and did some very light nvim use, to my entire workspace, connected to multiple machines, where I spend most of my day. This is the starting point
