PoX-5 hardfork: activated. The PoX-5 hardfork upgrades Proof of Transfer, the consensus mechanism where miners spend BTC to mine Stacks blocks, and lays the foundation for Bitcoin Staking. More info below on what this means. ↓

This week's PoX-5 hardfork completed the first step toward Bitcoin Staking: the consensus layer is live, verified, and running. Next up: restaking STX, Genesis Bond in late August, and bonding capacity scaling from there. Stacks is where Bitcoin grows.
