There's a popular misconception about proofs in software engineering, that it's somehow superfluous or "not worth the effort". Every platform carries costs that are assumed and after a time are never itemized. For managed platforms like #dotnet, runtime reflection is a prime example: the compiler 'knew' everything, discarded most of it, and decades of dispatch overhead, trimming workarounds, and AOT friction got absorbed as the price of doing business. The deeper trap is the sunk cost in the toolchain: the more tooling an ecosystem builds around an assumption, the harder it becomes to ask whether it was ever necessary. This is a compounding business cost that most working groups never examine. Want better qubits? Well, “draw” better junctions. ✏️⚛️ That’s exactly what we’re doing by plugging GenISys GmbH’s tool into our nanofab workflow. 🧪🛠️ Making quantum chips is like sketching at the nanoscale: we “draw” patterns into the material using a beam of electrons, which then define the tiny structures on our superconducting chips. The challenge? More often than not, electrons don’t go where you want them to... As they go through the resist and substrate, they scatter and “blur” the pattern. This is the proximity effect, and it can distort josephson junction dimensions (which are the key superconducting patterns) and even ruin entire chips. ❌ This is where GenISys GmbH's simulation tool comes in. It predicts how electrons will scatter before fabrication, enabling us to tune the exposure dose in the right places so the final chip matches our design. 🗺️ ✅ At Alice & Bob, advancing our cat‑qubit chips means testing a variety of designs at a rapid pace. eBPF (Extended Berkeley Packet Filter) lets you run custom, sandboxed code directly inside an OS kernel (Linux *or* Windows) without altering the kernel itself. It can provide real-time, deep system visibility, performance and security enforcement at near-native speeds. Most developers still don't know it exists, but they should. Shifting eBPF verification left is the key to treating the OS kernel as a core accelerator in heterogeneous AI workloads. Traditionally, developers fight the rigid kernel verifier at load time, causing silent deployment failures. By using a proof-aware compiler framework, we can mathematically guarantee a program will pass the verifier before it ever builds. This brings the OS kernel into the exact same accelerator "weave" as GPUs, NPUs, and other processor types. https://lnkd.in/eZXf9gWM
