Hi everyone,
I'm a 3rd-year Computer Science student. I know the basics of Solidity and blockchain development, and I'm currently learning Foundry to improve my smart contract development skills.
However, I'm feeling a bit confused about my career path. I've heard many people say that companies rarely hire freshers for blockchain-specific roles and usually prefer developers with prior experience. Because of that, I'm wondering if I should shift my focus toward backend development instead, since it seems to have more entry-level opportunities.
My long-term interest is still in blockchain, but I also want to be practical and maximize my chances of getting a job after graduation.
What would you recommend?
Should I continue focusing mainly on blockchain?
Should I learn backend development alongside blockchain?
If backend is the better option, which technologies would you suggest for someone interested in eventually working in Web3?
I'd really appreciate hearing from people working in the industry or anyone who has been in a similar situation.
