Data companies should not breach their duties of confidentiality by matching orders under any circumstances. This has nothing to do with whether the lab is Chinese.

This is absolutely shameful. Every company in the data ecosystem should publicly commit not to provide data to foreign adversary labs. @micro1_ai did this early and loud. @mercor_ai, @HelloSurgeAI: it’s not too late to admit you’ve made a mistake and to stop it.

Dropping out does not require a “Plan B from your parents.” You can just *go back* to college. It’s not like college is some Garden of Eden to which you can never return after committing the sin of dropping out.

Btw can we stop congratulating rich kids for “dropping out of college” as if it’s some insane act of courage You don’t drop out of Stanford or Harvard unless your parents have a plan B, C and D waiting for you

Example of human spikiness: we can fluently and easily reason about complex social situations with varying incentives, knowledge, personalities, etc., but struggle with 3-digit multiplication.

Our intelligence is probably just as spiky. AI's intelligence looks spiky *to us*. Maybe all intelligence is spiky. It's a very high dimensional space after all. Lots of room in the nooks and crannies.

Model performance is not actually one-dimensional, so you can plausibly find a profitable niche while still being Pareto-dominated by DeepSeek on the Artificial Analysis index. The Pareto frontier is a high-dimensional surface, which makes it much easier to achieve.

The deepseek zone. If you don't train models outside of the dashed line, your company is ngmi

Relatedly, many Americans glaze Europe because their experience of Europe is to use their American income to buy goods and services while enjoying social goods Europeans' higher taxes pay for.

JD Vance: I think GDP is fake because I went to Japan, where I was able to eat very well and buy a lot of high quality food with the money I made getting rich in America.
