Check WhatsApp numbers at scale.

Find out which phone numbers are registered on WhatsApp. Upload a contact list, use the API, connect an AI agent, or check numbers in Chrome.

For teams checking customer and lead lists before campaigns, reminders, or outreach.

  • Plans from €9 a month
  • Paid plan required for WhatsApp checks
  • Cancel any time

Animated examples of four ways to check numbers, not live calls. REST API: a single check that returns registered or not. Bulk CSV: a four-row upload. Agent: asking an AI agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor to check three numbers over MCP. Extension: a mocked browser extension highlighting a number on a page. The extension scene is an illustration of the Chrome extension, available in the Chrome Web Store.

Product preview. Example data, not live checks.

  • Stop saving numbers to a phone to check them

One upload checks your whole list, up to 5,000 numbers on Starter. Duplicates are removed before anything is billed.

  • Keep your own WhatsApp out of it

Checks run on our side. Your WhatsApp number, Business account and Cloud API app are never connected.

  • Know before you send, not after nobody replies

Run the check while you plan the campaign. Customers WhatsApp cannot reach get an SMS or email on time.

  • Pay for answers, not attempts

From €9 a month for 5,000 checks. Invalid numbers and checks we could not finish cost nothing.

See NumRadar in under a minute

Check a list, add WhatsApp status to your app, or let your AI agent do the work. See the whole workflow in one quick tour.

The YouTube player loads only when you choose to watch.

Ready in minutes. Works with any AI agent.

The only requirement is signing up for a paid plan and grabbing your nr_live_ API key. Paste one ready-to-use prompt into your AI assistant or coding agent, and it connects to NumRadar, checks your remaining allowance, and validates WhatsApp numbers on demand.

  1. 1

Sign up & copy your API key

Choose a monthly plan and generate an nr_live_ key in your dashboard. Registered and not registered results each use one validation; invalid and unknown numbers are not deducted.

  2. 2

Paste the universal prompt into any AI agent

Your agent reads numradar.app/llms.txt, connects to the hosted MCP server (numradar.app/mcp) or REST API, and runs a live test check in the same conversation.

Help me connect and use NumRadar so you can check whether phone numbers are registered on WhatsApp.

1. Read the machine-readable specification:
   - Overview and operating rules: https://numradar.app/llms.txt
   - Full HTTP and payload reference: https://numradar.app/docs.md

2. Connect NumRadar using my API key (created at https://numradar.app/app/keys after signing up at https://numradar.app/signup):
   - Remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP): https://numradar.app/mcp with header `Authorization: Bearer <NUMRADAR_API_KEY>`
   - Local MCP server (stdio, for desktop apps that only spawn local servers): `npx -y @numradar/mcp` with environment variable `NUMRADAR_KEY=<NUMRADAR_API_KEY>`
   - Chat-only fallback (if you cannot attach MCP servers): call `POST https://api.numradar.app/v1/validate` (single number) and `POST https://api.numradar.app/v1/bulk` (lists) with header `Authorization: Bearer <NUMRADAR_API_KEY>`. Note: OAuth sign-in is not supported yet; always authenticate with the API key.

3. Available MCP tools and slash prompts:
   - Tools: `validate_number` (check 1 to 3 numbers in E.164), `bulk_validate` (queue 4 to 10,000 numbers in one batch), `get_job_status` (poll progress and fetch results), `list_jobs` (inspect recent batch jobs), and `get_balance` (check remaining monthly allowance).
   - Prompts: `/check_numbers`, `/clean_contact_list`, and `/check_before_spending`.
   - Operating and allowance rules: Always call `get_balance` before starting a large batch. Use `bulk_validate` whenever checking more than 3 numbers. Registered and not registered results each use 1 validation from the monthly allowance; invalid numbers and unknown lookups cost 0 validations (never pre-filter or drop unknown rows).

4. Next step:
   - Give me the exact step to add this MCP server in your environment (or configure it yourself if you have tool access), ask me for my API key if `NUMRADAR_KEY` is not set, and run `get_balance` or check one phone number to confirm everything works.
Requires a paid NumRadar plan and an nr_live_ API key5 MCP tools + 3 slash prompts + REST fallback

Clean an outbound list before campaign spend

Keeps only confirmed WhatsApp numbers for your broadcast. Invalid numbers and unknown lookups cost zero validations.

“Check my remaining NumRadar validation allowance with get_balance first. Then validate the phone numbers in our lead list via bulk_validate and split them into registered WhatsApp numbers, valid non-WhatsApp numbers for SMS fallback, and invalid or unknown rows.”

Example agent task

Separate WhatsApp Business accounts and mobile lines

Routes personal mobile leads, verified business profiles, and landlines into the right sales or support queue.

“Use NumRadar to check these signup phone numbers. Tell me which ones are registered on WhatsApp, flag WhatsApp Business accounts (is_business), and separate mobile lines from landlines or VoIP numbers.”

Example agent task

Automate checks inside your IDE or terminal

Runs live number checks, polls background batch jobs, or wires POST /v1/validate into your codebase without boilerplate.

“Connect to NumRadar MCP (or read https://numradar.app/docs.md), check my remaining monthly allowance with get_balance, and run a test check on +14155552671 to verify our setup.”

Example agent task

Choose the channel before you send.

Check which customers are on WhatsApp, then use the result in your campaigns, customer updates, and sales workflows.

  • Prepare your WhatsApp campaign list

Check your customer list before launch. Separate numbers on WhatsApp from those that need another contact route.

  • Choose WhatsApp, SMS, or email earlier

Use WhatsApp status alongside customer preferences to choose a channel in your existing messaging tools.

  • Plan order and delivery updates

Check phone numbers from each order. Plan another channel before shipping or pickup updates need to go out.

  • Prepare appointment and interview reminders

Check numbers before scheduling reminders. Use the result to choose a contact channel for each booking or interview.

  • Give your team WhatsApp status in the CRM

Save the result with your contact records. Help sales and support teams choose their next step without checking each number by hand.

  • +1201555017Invalid numberNext step: Fix the record

5 numbers in, 3 validations used. The unknown and the invalid number cost nothing.

Unknown means the check could not finish. Retry later. Fix invalid numbers before checking again.

Use the results in your own messaging tools. Registration does not confirm permission to contact someone or guarantee delivery.

Choose how to check your numbers

Upload a spreadsheet, ask your AI assistant, check a web page, or build it into your own software. All four use the same account and the same monthly plan.

Upload a contact list. Download the WhatsApp results.

Bulk uploadsNo code

Upload a CSV or Excel file, or paste your numbers into the dashboard. NumRadar finds the phone column, removes duplicates, and checks the list. Download the results as CSV or JSON.

Use it to

  • Separate registered and not registered numbers
  • Review invalid entries and retry unknown results
  • Prepare a list before a campaign or reminder

Processing time: Bulk jobs run in the background at your plan's maximum pace. Running files share that pace, and queues can make them take longer. Check the plan's limits before starting a large list.

Let your AI agent check WhatsApp numbers.

AI agents (MCP)No code

Connect NumRadar through MCP. Ask your agent to check phone numbers, start a bulk job, read the results, or report your remaining allowance.

Use it to

  • Check a list from your agent's workspace
  • Review the results before a campaign
  • Check your allowance before starting a job

Setup: Choose your MCP client and follow its connection guide. The same paid plan, bulk limits, and processing pace apply.

Connect your AI agent

Check numbers while you browse.

Chrome extensionNo code

Find phone numbers on the page you are viewing. Choose which to check, see the result, and open a WhatsApp chat for a registered number.

Use it to

  • Check leads on a CRM page
  • Scan the numbers in a directory
  • Check a contact without copying it into another tool

Setup: Install from the Chrome Web Store, add your API key, and enable the websites you want to use. Numbers are sent when you choose to check them.

Add WhatsApp checks to your app.

APIFor developers

Send a phone number to the REST API and receive its WhatsApp status as JSON. A result can also include country, line type, business details, and a chat link.

Use it to

  • Check a number while the customer is still on the form
  • Check registration before sending a login code
  • Add WhatsApp status to new CRM contacts

In detail: Use POST /v1/validate with your API key. Registered and not registered results use your allowance. Invalid numbers and failed lookups do not. Webhooks are available on Growth and higher plans.

WhatsApp number validation FAQ

What people ask before they subscribe.

Read the documentation
  • What does one check actually tell me?

Whether the number is registered on WhatsApp, whether it is a business account and its profile name if it has one, the kind of number it is, the country it belongs to, and a link that opens a chat with it. One request, one response, no polling.

  • What am I billed for?

Definitive answers only. Registered and not registered each use one validation from your monthly allowance, because you can act on both. A number we cannot parse, a request over your rate limit, and a check no upstream could answer all cost nothing. On Growth and higher plans, unused validations roll over into the next month, once; Starter's allowance resets each month.

  • Do I need a WhatsApp account or the Business API?

No. You never connect a WhatsApp number, a WhatsApp Business account or a Cloud API app. You create an account, choose a plan and create an API key, the checks run on our side, and your own sending setup stays as it is.

  • Do I need a developer to use it?

No. You can upload a spreadsheet or check a single number in the web dashboard, check the numbers on any web page with the Chrome extension, or ask your AI assistant to do it. The API is there for teams that want the check built into their own software.

  • What happens to the numbers I upload?

They are used to run the checks you ask for, and we do not sell or rent them. The result of a single lookup is cached for at most 30 days. A bulk list and its results are deleted 30 days after the job finishes or stops, and the billing record of each validation never includes the number. During a check, the number goes only to the provider that performs the WhatsApp lookup, for that check only.

  • How fast is a single check?

Between roughly 300 and 800 milliseconds end to end, including the upstream lookup. It varies with the destination country, which is why it is quoted as a range rather than as an average or a percentile. That is fast enough to sit inside a signup form.

  • How large can a bulk job be?

Up to your plan's file limit per job, from 5,000 unique numbers on Starter to 300,000 on Enterprise, uploaded as a CSV of up to 100 MB or an Excel file of up to 25 MB. Duplicates are removed before anything is billed. Files run at a pace set by the plan, from 4 rows per minute on Starter to 20 on Enterprise, so a full file takes from about 21 hours on Starter to about 10½ days on Enterprise; start a large list well before the send. That is slower than the real-time API on purpose: the API keeps its priority, and a file is queued out of process so it cannot slow your real-time calls down. The pace is shared by an account's running files and is a ceiling, so a busy platform can make a file take longer. Starter and Growth process one file at a time, Business two and Enterprise three, and further uploads wait in line and start by themselves, from 3 on Starter to 20 on Enterprise. A file spends the monthly allowance but none of the hour or day caps. Check a running file about once a minute, because each status read counts against your per-minute request limit.

  • What happens when the check cannot be completed?

You get an explicit unknown and no charge, never a guess. Treat it as unknown and let the contact through. Recording it as not registered is how a real customer gets dropped from a list over a bad minute on our side.

  • How many checks can I run at once?

Between 5 and 300 requests per minute depending on the plan, plus hourly, daily and monthly ceilings on validation calls. The figures for every plan are on the pricing page, and in a table at /pricing.md. The per-minute limit is shared by everything an account opens: the real-time endpoint, bulk submission, status polling and the MCP server, and extra keys do not multiply it. The hour and day ceilings count real-time validation calls only, so polling a job never spends them. Going over any limit returns a 429 that carries that limit's real remaining window.

  • What if I run out before the month ends?

Checks pause when your allowance runs out. You can wait for renewal or upgrade your plan. Upgrades apply when payment clears, with only the prorated difference charged. On Business and Enterprise you can also request extra validations from the dashboard, in blocks of 100,000 at €99 / $99 each (in your subscription currency) and up to 1,000,000 at a time. We review requests within one business day. Extra validations are spent after your monthly allowance, through the API and file uploads alike.

  • Do extra validations expire?

Extra validations never expire. Use them while you have a paid plan, after your monthly allowance. If your subscription lapses, we keep your unused extra validations until you subscribe again. Closing your account removes them. Your plan's processing limits and file sizes still apply.

  • Can an AI agent use this directly?

Yes, through our MCP server. It is a published npm package under an MIT licence with the source on GitHub, so you can read exactly what it sends before you point an agent at it. It uses the same API key and draws on the same monthly allowance, so an agent cannot run up a bill outside the limits you already set.
