Practical AI for Logistics Operations

From any unstructured booking data to structured ERP bookings.

Booking emails and their attachments go in. Validated booking data your ERP can post comes out, approved by your team before it moves.

The reality in operations

Why does booking entry in logistics take so much time?

EDI, email, PDFs and scans arrive daily in every format, and a large share of operations time goes into reading them and re-keying the data by hand.

Data overload

EDI, emails, PDFs and scans arrive faster than anyone can read them.

Manual bottlenecks

Re-keying and compliance checks cap what the team can process at peak.

Errors & rework

Mis-declared cargo and typos turn into delays, disputes and claims.

Fragmented systems

Several tools, formats and standards, no single workflow across them.

No audit trail

Decisions live in mail threads, so tracing what happened takes hours.

Scalability ceiling

More volume means more headcount for the same manual work.

The Ailomera platform

How does booking automation with AILOMERA work?

Ailomera brings ingestion, AI processing, validation, human review and system integration into one auditable workflow. Booking automation is a typical use case.

Where AI makes the difference

What can freight forwarders automate with AI today?

AILOMERA automates three things today: processing booking documents, validation and compliance, and operations control by your operators. All three are live in production.

Document automation Live

Reads inbound booking requests, whatever shape they arrive in, and extracts every field.

  • Email body and PDF attachments, from Microsoft 365, Gmail or IMAP
  • Any carrier or forwarder layout, no fixed template to maintain
  • Understands amendments and cancellations, not just new bookings
  • Cross-checks its own output before hand-off

Validation & compliance Live

Runs the checks that matter in freight, so problems surface at intake instead of at the terminal.

  • Dangerous goods: UN number, IMDG class, packing group
  • Declaration completeness: UN number, proper shipping name, emergency contact
  • Lookups against UN/LOCODE, HS codes, addresses and business partners
  • Standards validation (EDIFACT, DCSA)

Operations control Live

One operator view with your team in control. The AI proposes, people decide.

  • Review, correct or redirect before anything reaches the ERP
  • Every field shows where it came from
  • Tamper-evident record of what changed and why
  • Structured output into your TMS or ERP via API and standard EDI

How much time does AILOMERA save on booking entry?

With AILOMERA, validated booking data is ready for approval in under 2 minutes after it arrives, at night and at weekends too. Your team handles only the exceptions.

How can I test AI booking automation on my own data?

In a three-month pilot phase, we adapt Ailomera to your own booking documents. You see the real extraction quality on your own data before Ailomera goes into everyday operation.

Frequently asked

Questions we get.

What can Ailomera automate today?
Booking-document processing end to end: reading inbound booking emails and their PDF attachments, extracting and validating the booking, running dangerous-goods and compliance checks, and producing structured, ERP-ready output, with your team reviewing and approving. Quoting, routing and cargo tracking are on the roadmap.
Can it read booking requests from email and PDF?
Yes. Ailomera reads the email body and PDF attachments from Microsoft 365, Gmail or IMAP, regardless of which carrier's or forwarder's layout they arrive in. There is no fixed template to maintain per sender.
Does Ailomera replace our TMS or ERP?
No. It feeds them. Ailomera sits in front of your existing systems and delivers structured data via API and standard EDI output, so there is nothing to replace and no lock-in.
What happens when the AI gets a field wrong?
Nothing reaches your ERP unreviewed. Low-confidence fields are flagged for an operator with the source passage attached, the operator corrects them in the cockpit, and both the original extraction and the correction stay in the audit trail.
How long does it take to get started?
A pilot starts from a mailbox or a folder of documents you already have. No ERP integration is needed to measure extraction quality, so the first results come from your own data early. Integration work follows once you have seen what it produces.
Where does our data go, and what about GDPR?
Ailomera is multi-tenant and GDPR-native. Your documents and extracted data stay inside your own tenant, and every access, validation and correction is recorded in a tamper-evident audit trail. Hosting and retention are agreed before the pilot starts.
What does the dangerous-goods check cover?
UN number, IMDG class and packing group, plus declaration completeness: UN number, proper shipping name and emergency contact. All of it is checked as part of extraction rather than afterwards, and anything that needs a human decision is escalated to your operators.
What does the pilot phase include?
Three months in which Ailomera is adapted to your own examples: your documents processed through the live engine, the extraction quality measured on that data, and the operator cockpit to review the results.
What is booking automation in logistics?
Booking automation, also called automated order entry, means inbound booking requests are no longer read and re-keyed by hand. Software such as AILOMERA reads the request from the mailbox, extracts the booking data, checks it against reference data such as UN/LOCODE and IMDG, and hands it to the ERP or TMS. An operator reviews every booking before it moves on.
How can a freight forwarder capture email booking requests automatically?
With AILOMERA, the existing mailbox is connected through Microsoft 365, Gmail or IMAP. AILOMERA reads every inbound booking request, extracts the data and puts it in front of an operator for review. Approved bookings go to your ERP or TMS as EDIFACT IFTMIN, INDIWA or DCSA JSON by webhook or SFTP.
How much does AILOMERA cost?
AILOMERA starts with a three-month pilot phase in which it is adapted to your own booking documents, followed by a monthly fee. Pricing is not published: contact us and we will send you an offer.
Which transport modes is AILOMERA built for?
AILOMERA is built for freight forwarders, carriers and logistics providers in sea, road and air freight. The platform reads booking requests from your mailbox and hands them to your existing ERP or TMS.
Which output formats and interfaces does AILOMERA support?
AILOMERA outputs validated booking data as EDIFACT IFTMIN (D96A), INDIWA (XML, validated against XSD) or DCSA JSON (v2.0), and hands it to your ERP or TMS by REST/HTTP webhook (Bearer, Basic, HMAC-SHA256) or SFTP (SSH key or password). Alternatively the booking stays portal native in AILOMERA, without being sent to an external system.
Does AILOMERA need a template for every sender?
No. AILOMERA reads any carrier or forwarder layout without a fixed template to maintain. The platform understands amendments and cancellations as well as new bookings, and cross-checks its own output before handing it over.
Does AILOMERA work at night and at weekends?
Yes. AILOMERA processes booking requests around the clock, including nights, weekends and peak season. What lands at 03:00 is processed at 03:00.
Who is behind AILOMERA?
AILOMERA is a ComData product. ComData has been building complex software since 1992 and brings more than 33 years of software engineering experience. The logistics expert who shapes AILOMERA has more than 35 years of experience in logistics.
