On June 3rd, several Atomic Wallet users reported on social media that their wallet assets had been stolen. The extent of the loss suffered by the victims is currently unknown due to the fact that the number of victims is not yet fully determined. We have received a significant number of submissions from victims and are carefully monitoring and analyzing the corresponding on-chain data. Our preliminary data and ZachXBT's ongoing investigation suggest an estimated loss hovering around $42 million. In our investigation of a widespread NFT phishing campaign, we discovered a significant connection to the Monkey Drainer organization, allowing us to gain insight into their phishing tactics. On March 1, 2023, Monkey Drainer made a surprising announcement: the immediate closure of their services and destruction of all associated files, servers, and equipment. While this means that statistics on this page will eventually cease, we remain committed as guardians of blockchain security, closely monitoring other potential threats from similar groups.
