    PHP 8.0
    WC 9.4.2
    WP 6.6.2

I am having an issue with orders. It is throwing an error:

WC – There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.
    Chrome console –

    tccl-tti.min.js:1 POST https://brownswoodworking.com/?wc-ajax=checkout 500 (Internal Server Error)

If I check orders the order is being placed but no email is being sent. I am using the WP Mail SMTP plugin for mail sending. I have tested email flow with no issue from the plugin.

I have tried deactivating many different plugins with no change. This issue occurs in both the old and new checkouts. However on the new checkout the WC error shows “Critical Server Error”

Any idea where to go from here? Using WC and WP have been pretty decent to get accustomed to coming from WIX but the cart/checkout configuration/experience has been a good test of patience for me to say the least.

I was able to figure out with docs how to enable debugging. This error was related to memory. I found a plugin that was mostly unused but was asking for over 100MB of memory which is almost half of the max. Disabled this plugin and this started working.

I understand that configuring the checkout experience was something you struggled with. We’d love to learn more about your experience. Would you mind sharing what were the things that didn’t work for you? What aspects of the setup process were most confusing or time-consuming for you?
