We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated interns to join the Cache Valley Electric team. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop a deep understanding of the electrical construction industry while contributing to impactful, real-world projects. As an intern, you’ll get hands-on experience in key areas such as project engineering, site inspections, estimating, and project management. You’ll also be paired with seasoned professionals, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that will provide mentorship and growth opportunities every step of the way.Potential Responsibilities
- Project Engineering Support: Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical projects. Support project managers and project engineers in reviewing specifications and ensuring technical accuracy.
- Material Acquisition and Inventory Management: Aid in sourcing and purchasing materials for projects, keeping track of inventory, and coordinating deliveries to ensure project timelines are met.
- Estimating Support: Assist the estimating team in preparing cost estimates, obtaining quotes, reviewing bids, and gathering necessary data to support competitive and accurate project pricing.
- Project Management Support: Work with project managers in monitoring project timelines, budgets, and quality control. Provide support with project documentation, change orders, RFIs, etc. Coordinate with other contractors and vendors.
- Site Visits: Participate in site inspections and walkthroughs to better understand the day-to-day responsibilities of a project manager, including safety practices and worksite coordination.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with team members across various departments (engineering, procurement, estimation, and project management) to facilitate smooth project execution.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related fields.
- Strong interest in the electrical construction industry with a desire to learn.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
