Allowing a Domain User to Access RDP in Plesk

Granting Remote Desktop Access to a customer on your Plesk server is uncommon but may be necessary for specific needs like unique installs or log searches. Plesk simplifies this process for Windows.

While managing your Plesk server, it may become necessary to give one of your customers Remote Desktop Access (for more information, see Using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to Log into Your Windows Server). While this level of access isn’t typical for a normal customer, it’s possible that a unique install or log search may require this kind of access. Plesk makes granting RDP access for a single Domain User very simple. These directions apply only to Plesk on Windows.

NOTE:

On a Plesk Managed server, ANY changes that can be made in Plesk should be made in Plesk. Changes made to the system outside of Plesk may be overwritten by Plesk at any time and therefore fall outside our Scope of Support. We may not be able to help correct problems that originate by making changes outside of Plesk.

On a Plesk server, the process to provide RDP access to a domain user is found in the Web Hosting Access section for each domain.

  1. Go to the domain for which you want to provide the user RDP access.
  2. Click on Web Hosting Access.
