Comport was proud to work with DST and support Dartmouth College as they modernized and secured their Open OnDemand environment. Together, we helped streamline access for researchers while strengthening authentication and storage integration. Here’s what we delivered: Infrastructure Build-Out • Deployed a dedicated infrastructure VM to support the environment. Platform Installation & Configuration • Installed the Open OnDemand RPM package. • Implemented mod_auth_cas both in a container and via RPM to support SAML Single Sign-On. • Configured and fine-tuned authentication workflows for seamless, secure access. Custom Integration Work • Updated key config files — including ood_portal.yml — to ensure compatibility with Kerberized NFS storage and enable smooth user experience. The result? A more secure, frictionless, and scalable research computing experience for Dartmouth’s academic community.
